Default Buzz 3000 unit and TV recognition

Hey guys, I have a buzz 3000 (red/black) version that I want to connect to a TV in a spare room.

I connected the unit via HDMI but the TV screen shows "no signal". The brand TV is Insignia, it's a 19" LCD and only have 1 HDMI port.

I plugged disconnected everything, I tried switching TV on first and then unit first in the hope it would recognize the unit. Any suggestions please?

Might be bad port on TV because this is the cable I use with the 4000 and this device has been used before, even though not in the last few months. The TV hasn't been used in years and I don't think the port was ever used

Try setting display to 720p on the buzz output. If not that try several different settings. The insignia also a problem. They are anything but user friendly. Make sure it is set to the same as what your sending to it, ie720p or 1080i etc. FWIW I don’t have an insignia tv anymore.

I had this same issue trying to run through hdmi extenders, ( using cat 5 cable, ). When the buzztv is set In the auto output the video doesn’t display, if I select (on the buzz) 1080i the tv picks it up right away. This is with a new lg tv.

Good luck & let us know if you get it.

    Cheers

Okay going to hook up device on other TV and change the output. The TV does not have a setting to change output though. I believe the buzz was last set to 1080 as that's what the other TV sets use.

Once you prove the cable and buzz unit, play with the aspect on the insignia tv. It was better than 10 years ago I had it and there always seemed to be some issue to overcome. They had to be the “curse of further shop”.

    Lately,
I’ve seen better tv options laying around at the electronic recycle drop off bin.

It's just a regular LCD TV set, I don't see any options to change resolution.

Yes because it works on another TV so the device itself is good. Do you really think that will work?
