    Default Smell proof backpack?

I'm a newbie camper for the most part but I am hoping to correct that with some backcountry western camping this year. I'll be backpacking in and camping out and I want to go like this backpack that reasonably ultralight smell proof and I'm wondering what others do for the smell proof.
    Thanks for any input

Well if you looking for some type of back pack or other container to keep your food safe from Bears good luck, there are some that say they are Bear resistant, but only for a small time.

A Bears nose is as sensitive as a Dogs, you may be able to seal up the food in a vacuum pack or Bear container, but the second you open one it will contaminate the back pack or the outside of the container (the foods smell) once you handle it, this will attract the Bear(s).

One way to keep the bears out of your food stocks is to hang it out of reach,(and sometimes this doesn't work if the Bear is very hungry) 10 feet or more from an overhanging branch, also pick a good strong tree, and away from your tent, some good 1/4 inch para-cord with a weighted end works great, they also make Bear canisters for this, but even they are not fool proof.

And don't keep food inside your car/camper/trailer, it will not stop a hungry Bear, nor will those Racoon safes at some campsites.

And if your going in an area that has Grizzly Bears around remember you ARE it's food source, so be careful, also a pistol will NOT stop a big Bear, it would have to be the size of a small cannon, and some so called Bear sprays will only make a large Grizzly very very mad, so if you going into Grizzly country ask the local ranger as to what to do if one comes across you.

    What for myself??

I put 8 rounds (had a back up in the truck) from a 44 mag into a large Bear, it stopped about 10 feet from me, the last 4 rounds made sure it was dead, had a ton of paperwork to fill out with fish & game about why did I shoot the Bear out of season, even with 3 grand kids running around,(screaming like banshees) they still wanted to take me to court, I had several other witnesses and they still bugged me for several months, next time I will bring a ranger as Bear bait.

Or just carry the .460 Weatherby next time, but it's a bit heavy to lug around when hiking, and then have a big BBQ.
