    Default st4000 vidstick

    Purchased this ST4000 to replace the firestick. Paired the remote and doesn't have any consistency at all I have to strike a key as many as 20 times to get it to wake up and respond on screen .After leaving it for a bit I hit the select to wake it up then channel down, it races down flipping for pages, then stops if I press it again its of to the races. I then unpaired the BT100 to use the IR extender and regular function, it doesn't respond over 5 ft or with any consistency. Tried rebooting .... Put dongle in for ar-100 its a little better, but uses the usb slot which I had other plans for.Any suggestions.

    do you know where the pin reset is?

    For the racing down pages after it wakes up I had a similar issue with my 4500, and crazy enough, it turned out to be just the batteries. Fresh set of batteries and the problem went away. The Bluetooth and Backlight are great, but they seem to guzzle batteries. No big deal, I buy them in bulk anyhow

    I received the stick this morning and already I put a fresh set of energizers. I have a xrs4500 also and used the st4000 BT100 remote to operate it, and was as good as the one that came with the 4500. I thought the stick being behind the tv was blocking it, but its not I took the remote to it and it still behaves the same way , I re paired it at least 5 times. The arq 100 is a champ compared to the BT100 being used with the st4000. I pressed the update several times over the day, hoping it would download something lol. I just reset with the android wipe data and reboot. Paired the remote and its racing all over the place, you cant enter a server with this thing it does what it wants to.

    Sticking a pin in it, doing the android reset. Changed the Mac address. aaaugh and remote still not responsive. Mac dont match the sticker. Could be a problem!

    something is not right I have yet to change batteries

    I changed the battery's to eliminate that option only, remote works fine on xrs4500 even without pairing it. I don't understand why the mac would change when a resets done( would think its hard coded)the mac no longer matches the stick or box label. I read elsewhere the st4000 and xr4000 have the same software and are experiencing a few issues, they are working on in an update.

    are you saying the server id and mac addy at top right of server settings page changed?

    sticker on bottom is not supposed to match the mac addy in server settings

    Again have you emailed buzz?

    Just heard from buzz .This is what they had to say:

    Yes we are aware of some of the issues with Bluetooth connection and surrounding disconnections. we are working on it, but for mean time you can connect the IR extention and use the remote as IR but you need to disable the Bluetooth Remote to function properly mean time till we come up with a good fix.

    1. Hookup the IR Adapter to the side of the dongle.
    2. using remote point to the IR adapter and go to settings select it.
    3. Scroll to Remote and Accessories and select it.
    4. Select BT-100
    5. Scroll to Unpair.

    Now you are all good with only using it as IR Remote.



    Well using the ir extender as suggested is not the answer not much better at all, good thing I have a ar100 remote it works well. Buzz did get back to me in a few hrs.

    Yes I am totally different, which could be a pain down the road for people who purchase servers and run into a problem.

    They haven't responded on the mac thing yet, usually 12-24 hr response. Will let you know.

    They responded to the mac changing and have been trying to replicate the same scenario at there end. The next update may tell the story.
