They’ve had a beautiful life together, but as they’ve gotten older, they’ve become more forgetful. Walter even went to play a round of golf the other day and forgot his clubs!

Agnes decided it was time to go to the doctor and see if anything could be done about their memory problems. The doctor said that these types of problems just happen as you get on in age. As silly as it may sound, they might have to just bring a notepad around and write things down so they don’t forget anymore.

Later that evening, the couple have eaten their dinner and they’re watching the evening news. Agnes asks Walter if he’d like some ice cream for dessert. Walter says of course, but he’s got a couple of requests. “Honey, would you bring me a scoop of vanilla, but put some chocolate sauce on top and a cherry? Maybe you should write it down?” Agnes says she’s happy to get his dessert, but she’ll remember, and that he’s being silly asking her to write it down.

She goes to the kitchen and is gone for about ten minutes. Just as Walter is about to check on her, she comes back to the living room with a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon. Walter looks at the food and says, “Well, that’s just great. You forgot my toast!”
