P.S....for the record, I have a cottage setup with that same dish/lnb combo with o.e. sw21s that haven't been touched in 14 years.

Ok, now this just came up for sale around the corner from me......Will this work with my neighbors current set up instead of changing lnb's? Guy only wants $20 for it........

If he has the DP twin LNB, (Dual satellite LNB in one housing) and has an FTA receiver with at least 500 mA DC output then he should not need the power inserter...
You only need the extra DC power when you have a tripe head Dish 1000 LNB, they are the power hogs.

I posted the pics of my neighbors set up and when I used my T5, I would get all the 91 channels and only a handful of 82. Brought it from my house and it works perfect here but I only have 2 single lnb's and a diseq. The pic of my north sat dish is actually in the pic of my 3 head lnb. Its in the background. (post 35)
If you look at the 2 pics of the bell dish with the DP44 Plus dish, can I run a T5 on that without a power inserter or anything else?

Now one additional problem, the coax used with DP type LNB's needs to be swept to 2.5 or rated to 3 GHz, this because the DP type LNB use band stacking to get all the transponders down one coax, if the coax used is not rated for those frequency's (marked on coax) then you may have transponder problems.
Coax used for cable or off air TV will not work too good with these LNB's, it's only rated out to 1 GHz.....

All he has is the dish plus shown in the pic and the bell receiver. BUT, the cable thats coming inside the house, just before the receiver connection, does have a switch that has 2 outputs. One for 91 and the other 82.
The cable Ghz may be a prob though. May just go with the 2 head lnb holder and diseq. Only use diseq for now as I have a few laying around instead of buying the sw21.
So by replacing his DP Plus lnb holder (post 35) with the dual lnb holder that I put a pic of in post 42 should work without having to re-aim the dish?

wintronic has sw-21 switches
anywhere fro $10 to $25

Thats what Im hoping........Will try with a diseq though as I have a couple here.if he puts a holder on with 2 legacy lnb's and adds a switch it's good to go
I usually do try to keep the switch dry but never though of a plastic bottle.....Interesting.
I use a square tupperware bowl with a snap on lid thats just big enough for the switch, it's water tight and weather proof, you can also paint it the same color as the house, drill a few holes in one side for the coax and mount it and the switch to the wall (or under the eaves with the holes for the coax facing down) snap the lid on and your set.
A quick note, the DP44 switch is water proof, if you use good weather tight coax connectors you would not need anything to cover it.

Ok, so this is what I bought today for $30

It came with 2 SW21 switches so the last thing I need to know is what do I have the settings on the T5 cuz Ive never used an SW21 before. Do I put it as single or OCS-DP and then use the SW settings for 1 and 2?
