    Default Power Cable

Got a hold of a very cheap T5 but it doesnt have a power cable. Are these something you can get easily? Would an electronics store have them?

Yes, long as the Plug on the end Fits the T5, and I believe it does. If in doubt order a adapter along with it
which includes all different size end plugs.

Well, The Source now.....lol. I use laptop cooling fans. Can get them around here for under $10. Got a nice surprise after buying the T5 for $20. Didnt come with a power cord but had the dl200 in it....

Was also wondering.....This is for my neighbour and he has a DP Plus dish. It was for dishnetwork but he is aimed at the north sats. Ive always used a diseq switch so what would I have to put in the dish settings?

I believe the DP Plus setup has internal switching built-in and some what of a power hog, so you may need
    a power inserter, or SW44 switch ?

He already has north subscribed but its ending soon. I figured I could just swap out the bell receiver and replace with this one and just adjust the settings in the dish set up. Im going to test it this afternoon so Ill report back if it worked or not........

If he has the DP plus triple LNB then he will need a DP 44 power inserter to run it, there are very few if any FTA receivers that can run that LNB without power supply problems. (now or in the future)

Also be careful as there are two types of these LNB's, one for the West coast, and one for the East coast, the one for the East is setup differently, it has different satellite spacing, and will not work too good for the Northern satellites.

The power inserter will have to be on it's own coax out to the #1 port on the LNB,(the DP44 power inserter does not play very well with FTA stuff) this gives him two ports (#2 and 3) for the receiver, #4 is an input for a 118W type LNB.

The DP+ LNB needs at least 400 mA at about 20 volts DC to run right, it was never designed to be used with anything else but an OEM receiver or an OEM switch. Most FTA receivers can run at 500 mA at about 18 volts if that, it's very hard on FTA power supply's.

If he is only looking at the Northern satellites then a DP twin LNB should be used, this type of LNB will work fine for most FTA receivers.

Also the DP plus LNB's (dual, 3 way and 4 way satellite selection) have an internal switch, so don't use an external Diseqc switch with them.

Ok, so I went and unhooked the subbed box and hooked up the T5. The only thing I found was to have the lnb type at OCS-DP. I then got all of 91 but only a handful of channels on 82.
First thing.....Can I buy a DP 44 power inserter still? Last thing, can I just take the lnb off and replace with a standard single lnb with the holder for the other lnb?
