    Sad to know that only a couple hundred years ago there was somewhere between 30 - 75 million of these guys in North America. Now there are only about 200,000 thanks to conservation efforts because they were almost gone.

    That is a HUGE animal.
    I don't condone for a single second what we did to them, but I don't think a population of that size was sustainable.

    If we didn't have the Midwest corn and grain belts then it might, but the big cattle ranchers would have wiped them out later, too much competition for the grass.

    Now Beefalo is very tasty, it's a cross between a Buffalo and a Steer, imagine the size of the steaks you would get off that big guy......

    Had them...very lean.Beef produces a much better flavour steak.
