Might try checking out the slot connector pins where it snaps in the board............

Might also be a heat problem. Try putting a small PC fan on top of the receiver but have the fan sucking the hot air out, not trying to blow cool air in, it will be much cooler sucking the hot air out. Also make sure your center-wire is not sticking out to far from the cable, it should only be sticking out about a 1/4" past the end of the connector.

"Frying" does sound heat related.Try supplemental cooling. Also make sure you don't have a high current/resistance issue with your sat cabling/lnbs/switching.

You might also want to check all your cables and connectors, if you have a cracked cable or loose connector and water is getting in there that could cause a short.

What type(s) of LNB's and switches (if any) do you have on your dish??? The T5 can only run 2 LNB's and maybe a switch without having DC current problems.
