Would a signal Booster like this: hxxps://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-HDBOOST-HDMI-Signal-Booster/dp/B01EC2YEX0
Do the Trick/work ? I have found the problem is the Wonky HDMI port on the T4-5'S Bad Batch made with that issue
hook up with component/composite and your Good To Go.

To the original poster, if you have a computer monitor with HDMI in, plug the T5 into it and switch resolution to 480p. It’s a far cry from HD but your TCL will accept it and it’s way better than composite video.

Not entirely true sir....it varies from tv to tv.If your tv upscales from composite to 4K, as 2 of mine do, the picture quality is quite good, or quite good for a dreamlink image at least.

Had the same black out off/on screen problem, unplugged the HDMI from box while in use for about 3 min....never had the issue since.

    Hope you get that fortunate.

Thanks for this, I tried it on one of mine and so far it is working

Update on black-outs it is still doing it but less often, believe it maybe heat/power issues involved

seems odd on these boxes, first i change the power supply, worked good for ever, then i lost 82 bird and i changed the lnb, worked great for awhile then had another issue so i swapped the sw21 switch worked great for a week or 2 and now this with the HDMI cable what the hell is going on with these T5 ??? frustrated but thats why we dabble i guess,

keep posting your findings as they are helping people out.

I can’t complain about these boxes they have been solid for a very long time. This has been the only big pain in the ass since I’ve owned them. My issue will be what to do and get when they finally kick the bucket. What would be my replacement?!

but don’t want to think about that yet

i read a post here i think about someone getting jynx boxes made up something like that. sorry can't remember it's an age thing lol.

i also tried hooking up composite last night it was better but still in and out , but this am was working without any issues for the half hour i had it on.

OK, thought I'd update on the T5 black-out & issue's etc. on the one I have doing it & the adjustments I made which seem to have solved it for me anyways. 1. In A/V Settings, video set to 480p 2. HDMI audio output, set to PCM
    3. I cut 2-holes approx. 2"x2" on opposite side of top cover, added 2 portable usb fans blowing/sucking any heat out that develops
Have been running the T5 now about 2-4hrs. and no hiccups/blackouts etc. This SETUP is with a (HDMI Cable) not component.
Not saying this will solve your problem with Your T5, But it seems to have solved mine.
