Default Loading 3rd party app on Nvidia Shield.

So, as usual the other half found a service they really like, this time for streaming bicycle races. I get to pay, and load the app on Nvidia. I should know by now, it NEVER works out with this box easily for me. I usually want to beat my head on the wall several times, if not theirs. Done ranting.. Can anyone suggest a way to load an app that is not supposed to be compatible with my device or some other simple work around. Thanks for any help or suggestion (apart from getting a different box or computer literate other half).
