Default Didn't know where to put this one.

OK kids, I have a 220/240 volt air compressor, whole shop vacuum system and 3 phase rotary converter, that are located out in the pump shack, I have some 240 volt standard light bulbs telling me it's (and the other stuff) online,(old brain, bad ears) I'm having problems finding replacement bulbs for that voltage here in the US. (it was hard to find them in the first place)

I have the bulbs connected with one phase on the center button and one phase on the shell. (the part that screws into the socket)

The question I have is will a 220-270 volt rated LED 60 watt light bulb work in this setup? (Dual phase power input) Without popping it's top.

I can find LED bulbs that will take up to 270 volts AC but I don't know if they will take 110/120 on both sides.

    Stumped.

3 phase voltage rating is measurement of voltage between phases. Example 480 vac is the voltage between phase to phase, the voltage between phase to ground would be 277 vac. Is the lighting circuit hooked up between phases, or one phase to neutral/ground?

A workaround might be to install a 240 volt A/C transformer to 24 volt A/C. Then use 12 to 24 volt RV LED light bulbs rated for either A/C or D/C................I think Home Depot carries these bulbs

i agree with the transformer set up, i would also put an adjustable restat in line with the led so you can adjust the brightness

No room inside the current setup to put in transformers for the indicators, they are mounted together on a box, with the wire coming in from the motor controllers through a PVC conduit, no room left in the conduit to pull in a neutral for the bulbs to be used on a standard 110/120 volt AC setup. (hot / neutral)

3 phase wiring supplied domestically in a drop to a house or ranch in the US is mostly 110 or 120 volts per phase,(higher voltages are used for industrial setups) using two of the phases to a electric motor would get you 220 or 240 volts AC, out here in the boonies they only ran a two phase setup on the poles out to the house, 1200 volts per side to the pole mounted transformer, this drops it to 110 volts per side at 400 amps, 200 for the house and 200 for the shop.

I used 240 volt rated standard light bulbs for indicators to tell me I have something on out there, one phase per side of the bulb, works fine.

When I bought the bulbs I got 4 each, one has burnt out, I have no spares now, I want to use LED bulbs as replacements but have no idea if they would work in a dual phase setup without popping a cork.

If I did it that way I would have used a 240 volt to 120 volt travel transformer, good idea but no room.
