I honestly have no idea where to find a pay phone in my town.30 years ago, they were everywhere,Amazes me how fast things change now.
I can remember back in the late 50's phone calls were a nickel in Houston, TX.
Pay phones still exist.
c/p According to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, roughly 100,000 pay phones remain in the U.S.
use to be common in airports, all gone now, the reason was someone could use a phone book and steal your i.d., real reason the phone companies no longer wanted to maintain them, someone had to collect the money every day and then kept some of it, just like the home phone, just a matter of time and there will NOT be any, telephone company does not want to maintain its poorly laid cables in the ground, the reason is every one has a cell, well NOT! just like this 5G do the folks realize the RF radiation dangers? and where do they put this junk in the school yards
When cell phones first came out they were PHONES. Now they are computers that can also make phone calls.
