Default T95 box and OK 3

Hi there I have one friend that is using a T95 android box and is having lots problems with TSN channels. He says that watching a regular show is good but when trying to watch a live game on TSN it freezes and hangs up. I am not having that problem. Any ideas what I can do to fix problem should I tell him to run a ethernet cable and plug box in direct. He is in a older house and using Bell as Internet. He is also saying if he goes on his phone tv freezes or cuts out.

I would tell him to call bell and get them to check the line He should also mention
internet issues when using a phone Make sure box is off when he calls bell. He should consider hard wiring it too

Cat5e is what you will typically find for cheap and will be perfectly fine for these boxes. Most run at 100Mbps max anyhow so not even close to saturating it, even on the crappiest built cable .

Cat6 is often only $2 or $3 more for that length, so I would typically just get the CAT 6 cable, but it is not "needed" in any way.

EX: Primecables presently has the 50ft CAT5e for $10.49 and the CAT6 is $13.49, and they have it in different colors which can help to hide it easier if it will be exposed.

This is a common problem with t95 box live fast tv like hockey is not fluid on screen and freeze often on fast moving player
Also if you look on bottom screen moving info bar you will see that it is not fluid at all

I don't have a T95, so I can't comment about this specific box, but I've had many other boxes where on paper they are awesome, with great processors, etc..
However in real world they have all sorts of issues. Android builds, codecs, libraries, drivers, optimizations and other stuff are critical for a smooth box experience. Takes one crappy background app or driver that leaks memory to cause chaos and strange behaviours to the whole box.
One that comes to mind was my old BeeLink GT1. It had awesome specs for its time (S912 Octa-core, plenty of memory, etc..) , but you had to jump through hoops to overcome all sorts of playback issues, and there was never a formal fix ever released. There were some community patches to get around the issues for the most part, but it was a pain and just unstable.

NOTHING can do this. Text message is over LTE/GSM cell network. Has nothing to do with his internet. And even if he was using some internet app like Whatsapp, messenger, viber, etc...Or even if he was using VoLTE or Wifi calling options, they don't use enough bandwidth to even make a blip on the whole thing.

Maybe it is time to do a full reset on the box and start clean or just get a whole new box. Truth is with these Chinese import boxes, is "you get what you pay for". I gave up on them MANY years ago (all sorts of strange behaviours, freezing, hanging, glitching, etc..).

I hear buzzTV has a bunch of nice boxes

On the entry level they have the Essentials E2, which is pretty impressive for an entry level box.
    Code:

And on the high end, they have the xrs4900, which just rocks.

Okay did a full reset and everything seemed good then he went online on his phone and receiver froze I have never seen this before. I have few other people with same box and no issues. Will tell him to try to do a speed test on internet. Also will tell him to do one online and when his phone and receiver all on at same time. If that fails maybe another box . What is a good box that is reasonable priced.

"Reasonably priced" is relative to quality & features vs price point. The Buzztv 4900 is a reasonably priced quality stb, as are the 4000/4500 models.Forget the bottom end chinese crap units & spend more time watching tv rather than fixing it.Consider it as re-investing some of the money you save on cable/satellite subscriptions to enhance your viewing experience.

Like The Noof mentioned, it is all relative. I also recommend stay away from bottom end chinese boxes. The hassle of strange issues, is just not worth it.

The 4900 is great, but I understand it may be a lot more than some people are willing to spend.
The xrs4500 is a great mid point.
But if that is also too expensive, then the Essentials E2 (not the older E1), is a great entry point for a solid box. It is essentially the same as an xrs4500, except there is no bluetooth remote, and less memory. But, it has same CPU and also running the buzztv4 app (and will be updated to buzztv5 eventually).
And with buzz box, the buzzTV applications, makes using a 3rd party app, completely redundant, and not needed in most cases. And the app is so much better than anything out there (including tivimate, which is the best for most generic boxes).

Nut honestly, I don't see the relation between his phone and his box. Unless he is running a torrent client on his phone and downloading at full speed, I don't see what the phone can doing to kill the box.

Did he by any chance do something stupid like manually override the MAC address on his phone to emulate the MAC on his T95 box, in order to try to get his single subscription on box his box and his phone ? Either way, the MAC is emulated on all these in one form or another, since the physical MAC is not really what is used.

If he uses any other wireless device in his home (tablet, laptop, PC, someone else's phone, etc..) does he experience the same issues ? Or just with his phone ?
