I found this Not my work: SV8000HD Fix for UD Error only!

Here is a UD ERROR FIXED for anyone who's experiencing UD ERROR message.

Please read this instruction carefully before process .

    1. Copy HD8000_V0211.rom and HD8000_BOOT_v0200.ldr onto the USB memory stick (make sure to format the USB memory stick prior doing update)

    2. Turn SV-HD8000 OFF completely, including the rear power switch

    3. Plug the USB memory stick into SV-HD8000 USB port

    4. Update "HD8000_V0211.rom" by hard update (Press and Hold front panel
Menu button, at the same time turn the rear power switch ON, when you see it start loading you can release the menu button)

    5. Ignore "UD ERROR" message during update. (It can be wrong message)

    6. Check if the receiver is booting correctly, if not after 5min, turn OFF and ON by using the rear power switch

    7. Go in to Menu and check if the current Main SW version is 02.10

    8. Now go to USB Menu, update bootloader with "HD8000_BOOT_v0200.ldr" and you are done .

DO NOT USE THIS FIXED IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCING UD ERROR MESSAGE.

Try a different usb drive too.SV can be fussy about drive size.Smaller FAT32 is best.

If you run the Wiznet program, does it see it or recognize the board etc. and show that ver. 4.12 is on it ?

Well if Wiznet can see it & with 4.12 loaded on, it should be good, is the SV8000 NON Responsive other than that
Could you possibly force Load a FACTORY File, or system clean file etc. I don't know what to tell you, but maybe
just keep trying different things to make it GO OR Respond some how. At this point I don't think you can hurt it any worse ?
Hopefully someone with Better Understanding than I have on the SV8000 WORKINGS will Chime in with an answer.

I found this Read Me: Main reasons for UD Error update failures:

    1. USB Drive not compatible (may look like it works... but it does not). Buy a different type or even a few different types. I've been using a Kingston USB stick and things have been fine (just make sure it is just a USB drive and not anything fancy with extra bells and whistles) When you are in Windows Explorer, right click your memory stick and select Format. Always be sure your drive is reformatted to FAT. Some reformat there USB drive before every file load.

    2. Memory sticks sometimes have multiple boot partitions/devices which foul up the process and the Sonicview 8000 will see the wrong device. Things like thumb security, backup software, automatic driver install partitions, etc are examples of multiple devices on one memory stick. Try and find a simple USB stick thats only a storage device and nothing else.

    3. USB port acts erratic when there is a large power drain on the unit. I've goofed around with addons and stuff and sometimes the power drain causes the USB to act screwy. Take out anything that draws power on your Sonicview receiver, and just have the TV plugged in.

    4. You have a zip file on the drive stick and not the uncompressed bin/rom file. Unzip the file then copy it over to the drive stick. Never uncompress directly to USB drive. This has been known to cause some data corruption.

    5. You copied the file over and didn't add/remove the USB drive stick from your PC using the "safely remove" icon from the tasktray (lower right) or in My Computer. The File can get corrupted on the memory stick and looks good (the file is there) but its missing some bits of data and dies in the update process (midway or near the end). Re-Download and Copy a fresh version of the file, unzip, then copy the fresh file to the drive stick and then safely remove the USB drive from the PC.

    6. File downloaded from the site got corrupted in the transfer somehow. Its unlikely, but it has happened. Re-Download and try again.

    7. Older versions of firmware didn't support larger USB memsticks. Try to use 1GB and lower. 512MB seems to be the most stable if you are going back and forth between firmware revisions.

If you're trapped with a non working USB memory stick but your PVR drive works, you can use that instead. Hook the drive up to your PC, copy the bin/rom file to it (the root folder of the drive) and reconnect it to the Sonicview 8000, then go to the USB menu and manually do the software update from there.
