Buzztv 4900 Mac Server Error: (username/password)

I didn’t know there is a difference. But that’s what I asked before so maybe it bares asking again, if I made a mistake giving the wrong MAC address, would that cause this username/password issue? Thanks for any help friend

I asked my provider this question and they responded, “ This can not be right as a mac address does not require a username/password.”

So I went to Mac Server on the Maine screen and entered a link like

Code:

http://getott.xyz/c

Not actual link but structure is the same.

It goes thru connecting, linking, handshake, then the POP-UP error, "username or password incorrect."

Is there a way to find some free links just to test my box before purchasing another service maybe?

you find both m3u and mac based here look in the archives for m3u`s

one should understand the difference between a m3u and a mac based service
the m3u uses the username/password format the mac based uses the mac format
00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX THE X`s are specific to you subscription.

sounds like theres confusion between the mac on the buzz box app and the mac for the iptv service

also why would the box ask for the username/password if your using a mac service maybe the wrong setting
i dont own a buzz ?

the link you provided should have a mac number with it 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX

Mac is not a part of the url.The mac is identified by the server in the devices software.The url should only contain server specific info.Did you try the link I posted?

like i say i dont own any buzzez but heres an example on a older one
the mac should be the one your provider gave you

you provide the app's mac to service
the service doesn't give you a mac
and only buzztv 2 boxes can edit mac

ok i see that answers a few things for me personally i dont think i would use the app
for what i do but i see why they would do it that way yes hobby should know that there are other apps he can use if he doesnt already know...

Agreed...but if you want to mac clone, you can that way.stbemu might be the worse gui of all.
