    Default XRS 4000 Bluetooth

    I bought 2 boxes and set them up today. All went well until I tried to hook up a set of bluetooth headphones. They say pairing, then connecting and then can't connect. Then I get 'bluetooth stopped working'. When I exit out and go back to bluetooth, it lets me turn bluetooth on, it doesn't show any devices and wont let me go down to add device. If I reboot the box, the headphones show up but won't connec and the cycle continues.
    This is happening to both boxes.
    I tried hardwired, wireless and the same thing happens. Is anyone else having these issues? I could return them but what are the odds I got 2 XRS 4000's that have the same issue.
    I have an XR 4000 and XRS 4500 here and work flawlessy.
    Any help appreciated.

    I was just going through some older posts and there was a post that I was in and towards the end of the thread, it was said that buzz knew of the issue. Do I assume that this bluetooth prob isn't fixed yet?

    Buzztv 4. Also tried wif on/off and with ethernet connected and disconnected.
    I just found a post for buzztv 5 (beta) if you hit 2015 after checking for update. It says there is no beta version for this box.

    How? I tried typing in 2015 after it said I had the latest update but it popped up saying there was no beta version for my box.
    Is there another way to do it?
    I just found a buzz video and it stated that I have to wait 1 week before trying the '2015' beta update. Im currently trying it now on my XR4000. When I do this to the new boxes I got today, will that fix the bluetooth issue?

    Well, I did receive a message from the Buzz team about the bluetooth issue with the 4000 models. Updating to Buzz 5 will not correct this issue. This may tempt people to lean more towards the 4500 or 4900 models if bluetooth is an important feature to them. Here is the email:

    buzztv5 is a big improvement over buzztv4 however it will not improve hardware capabilities.
    x4000 series was created in 2019, x4500 series was created in 2020 and x4900 was created in 2021. all 3 models are using different versions of Bluetooth. 4.1, 4.2, and 5.0. all 3 models use different chipsets 905x2, 905x3, and 922x.

    The advantages of each chip are lots of differences which can be found on 3rd party sites and on the chip manufacturer site. For marketing purposes, we focus on the key differences between the generations and not the 100s of minor changes between chips. As the technology improves the capabilities improve and the issue you are specifically having is a capability issue. there are millions of Bluetooth devices on the market, not all are compatible with each other but with each, new generation more things are talking to each other. Bluetooth 5.0 is the most versatile standard for set-top boxes
