    Default Dreamlink T5 Replacement

My T5 just gave up the ghost. Which FTA boxes still available are a good replacement for the T5 with SD & HD?

You're down to getting a Jynxbox V30 clone (new if you're lucky, used if you're not) or a used dreamlink T4/T5,HD, or a Sonicview 8000hd.
All are getting scarce now. What's the issue with the Dreamlink you have now?

Once in a Blue-Moon a T4-5 will show up on Ebay or Kijiji but in General they are Nonexistent
I see a few Sonicview's still kicking around, because I have a spare one sitting here.

It all the sudden shows a message that this tv cannot process the incoming formats from the external device. It went out of sat lock, I rebooted it from the back and it came back on but then the picture had everything outlined in green. Rebooted again and I get the previous message.

Before starting this operation, boot receiver & tune to an sd channel on the 91 sat.It doesn't matter if you can see it or not.Unplug the dreamlink & remove the 8psk.Reboot & see what happens. Also consider that the power supplies fail often, & can have all kinds of weird symptoms.

It almost sounds like it switched to Pal Format or something (TV Switched formats) can't decipher incoming video signal
    or wrong input hook-up ?

Well, I got lucky. It was just a bad HDMI cable. I borrowed the one from my computer monitor and it works as usual now.

Kinda makes me nervous now...Think I'd better be looking for a backup box seeing as how they're so scarce.

    Thanks for the help fellers...

If you haven't changed out the original Power Supply that came with the T5, you should to one that's 12v 3.5-5amp for the
Box to run Right, also you should have Cooling measures (Fans) in-place to keep the CHEAP components installed from heat
issues, (Caps, HD Module, etc.) I have a set of Portable USB Fans that sit on top of my Boxes keeping things nice & COOL.
Also some of these FTA Boxes have HDMI Port issues, and have to be hooked up with signal/video converters/boosters etc
for proper video picture/signal to operate correctly.

    Thanks.
Yeah, I've got a fan on this one. I learned from the other one I have sitting here. That one will power up and try to point at 91 but misses with the motor. I go into motor controls and find the sat again and it works for about 1/2 hour then physically heats up and starts rebooting on it's own.

Funny that if I put it in the freezer for 15 min and hook it back up it will last for another 1/2 hour then start to reboot over and over again.

Is there a known person or place to send these to get em fixed??
