It looks like they are now blocking the NHL streams now. Anyone else having the same issue? It works using a vpn
I can't watch it without vpn
If this is temporary, looks like a more permanent solution will be required. These federal court requests will not stop any time soon I am sure.
I just checked with no vpn and pretty much all the CBC feeds are dark for me. Sportsnet is dark. Only feeds I can find montreal canadiens games on are the French channels which seem to work (TVA, etc..).Code:This one was more targeted earlier in the year: https://torrentfreak.com/nhl-broadcasters-win-canadas-first-dynamic-pirate-iptv-blocking-order-220608/ This one looks more general: https://torrentfreak.com/canadas-federal-court-grants-nhl-pirate-streaming-blockade-for-22-23-season/
Toronto game is on one of the sports channels (MSG or something like that) and it works (for me at least).
Better than complete darkness however, but still not out of the woods.
Wondering it it would be easier to bypass if the streams were on a different port other than port 80. A couple of portals I have that are on ports other than 80, seem to not be affected. Obviously it could be anything (typical cat & mouse game), but just throwing it out there.
Myself and others I know have been experiencing issues for the past week or so with channels being black, most of them don't even have anything to do with soccer/hockey.
At least in my experience (with My ISP - and using OK2 - user/pass type sub)....
For the hockey blackout (which I checked tonight for the first time), it seems to be only the channels carrying certain games (CBC locals, Sportsnet, etc..) that were dark (possibly a few others, I did not check them all, but most others were fine).
During the soccer games, once the game starts (after a few seconds), ALL channels would go dark (unless you use a VPN). And this is a known issue, has been discussed many times, and many are affected.
Don't know if all ISP use the same method, but that is my experience so far.
no issues watching first 3 hockey games without a vpn
didn't check others because I switch to ota for sports if possible

Any update on the this? Is they going to be addressing these issues or is the VPN going to be the only solution?
8:45pm eastern, no vpn and pretty much every channel in the sports section is a black screen. Oddly, every channel in the english section is working. No world cup games on today. I'm not with any of the big 3 providers so this is the first time I'm seeing this.
*Update* 8:57pm
Even with vpn running sports section is pretty much down except for a few channels.
*Update 2* 9:03pm
All sports channels working suddenly....lmao!!
