    Default Remote Power Button

My buddy's T5 remote will change the channels but it won't power the unit on or off. Tried new batteries and still the same. Any ideas?
    Thanks

All I can think of is to make sure the button isn't stuck down.Short of that, it's new remote time.

if you can open and clean power button and see if that helps if not then time to buy a new remote control.

Also clean all around Outside front of remote, make sure to use GOOD Batteries & position them Correctly

One other thing you can try, besides what has been Mentioned, Point remote (short distance away) at T5

Push & hold STB Button on remote (next to power button) for a few seconds or so. This is to sync remote with T5

This may or may not work, may have to do it a few times etc. ?

Ok, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll test them out when I speak with him tomorrow. I'll even bring my remote to his house to try.
