Default Looking for 43" TV for spare room.

    Hi All,

Like subject say I am looking for a 43" TV for spare room. The room is small so bigger than 43" might be a bit much.

I want to be able to load an IPTV app on it (optional) and also want 4K. I see lots of Samsung and Roku TV's out there but open to suggestion from anyone. Ya don't want to spend a ton either maybe $200 - $400 Canadian.

    TIA

Depends on how fussy you are about picture quality and your budget. If you're just going to use it for iptv, pretty much any decent 4k led properly loaded will suffice. On the other hand, if you want to add a UHD disc player for true 4k playback, you might want to set the bar higher.I have 3 LG OLEDS of various sizes (50/65/77) that are fantastic, but they do cost more, sometimes double the cheaper stuff like RCA,Hisense, ect. In any case Black Friday deals are upon us.
For the record, my LG 77" C4 in my man cave home theater has the best picture I've ever seen.

for this spare room TV I will just go decent 4K. Once I replace my 60" Panasonic plasma I will go high end, but I do love the Pani.

But I was going to edit my post to say I do want something I can download an apk on that doesnt make me jump through a bunch of hoops. If I can avoid side-loading I would like to but I can to it if necessary.

I am going to wait until black Friday and if I see a decent OLED I may go for it.

All you need is google playstore licensing app on the TV and you can get any app their or can download tools to download apks.

I have a Roku/TCL almost five years now, works great, never had a problem.
They are smart tvs so you can load apps on them.
    Paid about $350.00

43" are in the $300.00 range.

I ended up with a LG 43". Man they sure want you on the internet. Now I have a TV I have to hack, if it can be done?

I don't need LG checking in on everything I do, good thing it's not in the bedroom LOL...

If you're using a separate streaming box, just disconnect the tv from the internet. No more updates, no more spying...lol.

Something to keep in mind is some of the newer tv's don't have an Optical out plug anymore.
We bough my Mom a new tv for Xmas and went to hook up her sound bar and there is no optical plug on the new Samsung Crystal UHD D7200 50 inch tv

Good point. It won't be long until there's only HDMI connectivity until they create something else. Also keep in mind that optical only supports a max of 5.1 output if thats a consideration for your home theater.
