I've used "Total Recorder". I believe they have a freeware version also. There is also a beta program out, Audacity 1.3, that shows promise.

I thank the people who have answered me. But I think I didn't explain thngs well. I get movies from torrents and sometimes the audio is crappy. They usually are avi files(but not necessarily all). What I meant to say is that I want a program to "clean up the audio files" on the avi file so that I can then burn the movie onto a DVD and understand what they are talking about.

Generally if you download "garbage" you get garbage. I've always view a clip before downloading just to make sure if if okay.
