Dedicated to our police Sgt Who lost his life.

The Men and Women in Blue

Why O’ Why, do we have to cry
Why, tell me why, do they have to die
They protect us, from dangers in life
Every day they take it in stride.

They are our Police, the men in blue
They look out, for me, and for you
Far too many give their lives
We grieve for their families, and there wives.

Many years ago, in my home town
A coward took an officer down
He was doing his duty, to protect us all,
His comrades watched, and saw Michael fall

We remember him, as the years go by
We shed a tear, and salute the officer who died
When you see them, on the road
Give them a wave, it lightens their load

Give them thanks, and lots of praise
As they go about their daily ways
They are your friends, each and everyone
Make sure they come home, to their loved one’s

Many are my friends, the men, and women in blue
I hold out my hand in friendship, to each one of you
And pray for your safety, and give you a wave.
As I pass you on the street, and pray you come home safe.
