What happens in Vegas: Stunning nostalgic pictures show stars from Frank Sinatra to Mariah Carey at Caesars Palace as it celebrates 50 years
This summer an icon of the Vegas strip, Caesar's Palace will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with parties, sweepstakes and celebrity guests
Famous;y stunt man Evel Knievel tried and failed to jump iconic fountain display in front of the hotel. Though he cleared the water, he didn't make the landing and ended up with broken bones and bruises
Over the summer's guests can take a free, self-guided walking tour around the hotel's landmarks and see where The Hangover was filmed
Over the last five decades, countless celebrities have performed and partied at this legendary spot in the neon-signed city, including Tom Jones (above)
Looking at the photo above you can instantly see how much the famous neon-lined strip has changed. Now the road is packed with vertiginous hotels and you can no longer drive right up to the front fountains of Caesar Palace
It's not just attracted celebrities likes Justin Bieber and presidents like Obama, but sporting stars too. Muhammad Ali took on and won a boxing match against Joe Bugner in 1973 in this hotel. Pictured in another fight, Larry Holmes raises his arms in victory as Muhammad Ali sits in a corner in the 11th round of a 1980 match
Almost as soon as it opened Caesar's became a regular haunt for the Rat Pack, which included Frank Sinatra (pictured), Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop
