XRS 4500 backlight

Was wondering how to get the backlight on an XRS4500 with the BT-400 remote? I went into the settings for the remote but it won't let me check 'ON' for the backlight. I can't even get there unless I use the mouse pointer.
Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? Unit just arrived and put in the new batteries.

Edit: I guess the buzztv smart remote app is needed. Can't find it in the aptoide store. Any way to get this app on a 4500? Would love to have the backlight......

The remote paired instantly and everything worked except for the backlight.
Can the 4500 get the android 11 update?

Then why would they include that remote in the box? lol
The lid of the box even has a pic of the remote that says 'included'. Good remote but without the backlight its kinda hard to see the buttons.

yeah, paired easily. Everything works except backlight. I just can't get up to where you need to turn it on and off. Highest I can go is Mouse Speed and down below to set the colored buttons.

I had no issues turning backlight on on the 4500 or the 4900

Is there something special I'm missing? Paired many of these remote bluetooth without issue. First time using this one though.

Just to make sure, this is the remote I'm trying to get backlit. I have another 4500 with the original style bluetooth remote and it backlights no probs.

I just tried it on my other 4500 and it actually worked before bluetooth connected but still not backlit. But it did connect bluetooth though. On my older 4500, the setting to adjust mouse speed and turn backlight on/off isn't even there......Maybe something they added to the latest batch of 4500's?

I just set up another 4500 se
First time I went in the remote app I could not turn backlit on I unpaired remote and paired it again and then I was able to turn backlit
There is a way to factory set the remote but it forgot I've asked buzz for the instructions Might need a software update?
