I'm looking to upgrade from a Firestick 4k max to device that records with timeshift and has more ram. Does anyone have any opinions?

do you know if any buzz boxes do HDR
As far as I know, Buzz boxes do HDR, even dating back to the XPL3000 box, which is quite a while back. Obviously every piece of the puzzle must line up to get HDR. Don't expect to connect the box to an old HDMI 1.4 receiver and expect to het HDR passed. There are a few requirements for the whole chain, or everything falls to the lowest common denominator.
I just checked even my older xrs4900 (which is my main box in the bedroom) and it has options in the settings to enable HDR and even which to prioritize (HDR10 or Vision). Not in front of my other boxes right now, but pretty sure all the 5 series boxes are similar.
For IPTV, these are some of the nicest boxes in my opinion. I've been using them and recommending them for years.
Cannot comment about running other services on it (like Netflix, Disney, etc..), since I have no interest in those services. 98% of my streaming consumption is from IPTV sources, or direct from my personal plex server.
I know netfl!x is a pain on many boxes, since they want to license every damn box that plans to run it in full res with all features enabled and with proper DRM. So many 3rd party boxes not in bed with them are excluded from getting the "full" netfl!x experience.
Thanks DU, also there is 15% off all Buzz boxes right now![]()
