Hey there - I've recently switched from using legacy LNBs to using a DPP Quad LNB, but I discovered that my new cable run seems to be a bit too long for my FTA receivers to properly pick up all the transponders on my sats (82/91) using the new LNB. A BEV receiver can pick up all transponders on both sats just fine at the indoor end of the cable run. If I plug in my FTA box right next to the dish, it also picks up everything fine.
Is there a way to amplify the signal from the LNB so that my FTA boxes get a stronger signal? My understanding is that the amplifier somehow needs to pass power either 13 or 19v according to what the receiver outputs to select polarization - but I can't just use a normal inline amplifier because the DPP LNB needs 500mA of current and the amplifier also needs its own current. But the powered amplifier I have just always outputs 19v and ignores what the input voltage is, because it's powered by a 19v wall wart. Or does the DPP LNB use something other than 13/19v to select polarity?
Also absolutely open to alternative solutions that don't need an amp. The cable run is all new good quality RG6 except for about the last 40ft which is good quality RG11.
