it asks me to grant permission every damn time very frustrating, as soon as i grant it the buzz tv 5 menu appears from the right side version 5.0.935 BUZZ xr4000.tv and the remote w ill only control that
doesn't work as soon as i grant permission that buzz tv 5 menu pops up
It pops it up, because it needs for you to GIVE it permissions. The app can not take permissions on it's own. It gives you the popup, and you should go to files and media, and enable the permission.
NOTE: Stop calling it the BuzzTV 5 menu, since it is NOT a buzztv 5 menu. It is an android OS menu, for the app (and every app has one).
i am just telling you what it says on my screen which is buzz tv 5, that fix worked great but makes no sense because i had permission granted under files and media but for some reason on the menu screen it was listed deny, changed it to allow and confirmed but the menu still said deny, did that 3 times and it worked .
I am use to a stb and i was told to never leave it running as they over heat so i switch it off when not in use, i am on limited internet so i assume if i leave the box connected to the internet it is consuming data 24 hrs a day although i only watch 1 hr of tv in summer so i pull the ethernet cord out, am i wrong?

hat are you talking about i haven't said anything other than thank you and answering ?
i am lost i have no clue what you mean i just answered emporiums post and thanked him
When you said you did a reset, was it a hard reset (using the pin/button) method, or the soft reset (through the settings menu) ?
Hard reset is what I always recommend for a true clean start. Soft resets can leave stuff behind sometimes. Obviously something glitched with the permissions, and that could be some "timing" issues. After a reset, you should typically leave the box alone for 5 or 10 minutes after getting to the first home screen, to allow it to install the 3rd party apps which it needs to install and run any scripts to update various things on the box. If you try to go too quick, it may cause some things to fail which will drag on far a while.
i was not aware of a difference is that hard reset covered somewhere here? I did it in menu settings i read that info on another site stbtalk.com, and no i didn't leave the box alone for 10 mins but i will remember that in future.
I do appreciate your help i was not trying to have attitude as folk are saying but i see others post the same thing we don''t all understand iptv/ buzz box etc for us seniors it is a big learning curve especially for someone that does not use any other android device or have any device that uses apps
Hard reset procedure can be seen here:

Procedure is for an xrs4500 but procedure is identical for the Classic. On the Classic, if I recall, you also have a small button on the side, and if I recall well, that instead of putting a toothpick into the A/V hole, you can hold the side button instead as you plug it in. It serves the same purpose.
