    Default General questions re Bev

    Hello,

Had a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer.

    1. Is it possible to get 4K channels with IKS? I have a Jynxbox (v2). And I just purchased a new 4K TV that I'm hoping to get the most out of. If so, does it depend on the server?

    2. Is Bev IKS on the way out? With these latest transponder changes, I've been reading on here that IKS is on its last legs. But people have been saying that for years. I usually ignore that and get a yearly plan but was wondering if there is some truth to the claim this time.

    3. Re my Jynxbox that I mentioned above, I believe its on its last legs. The one that's available on aliexpress (Jynxbox Premium)...is that a reasonable substitute for this one? I believe the v3 was the last original version. Not sure how this one is.

    (1) No ... best you can hope for would be a screen resolution of 1080.Your tv may or may not upscale from 1080 to 4K,but the boxes can only produce 1080 at best.
    (2) Yes...slowly but surely. Some stbs have already felt pain of "phase-out" with the satellite/transponder changes that they can't adapt to.Other changes in the near future will surely negate iks.
    (3) There are members here that have the ALI clones of Jynx boxes that are working with proper transponder data changes.I don't have or want one because of my previous experiences with them.

Thank you for replying. So essentially the only way to get 4K content is via an official provider or IPTV?

As for IKS, I suppose its risky to get a one year subscription at this point. Might just forego it altogether.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but are there any IPTV services that aren't on delay for sporting events? IKS is great for this. No delay at all. But I've yet to find an IPTV provider that can claim the same.

I wouldn't invest more than 3 months in iks right now.Whn my own sub is up, I'm done with it.I suggest you look into iptv for the future,it's come a long way in a short time, but there's still a lot more room for improvement.

IPTV has gotten better, but I'm not sure what it can do about the delay when it comes to sports.

Most sporting events are covered by a fiber optic feed to the local studio, where some are rebroadcast via satellite feeds, these feeds go up to a geosynchronous satellite, they are then sent down to other ground stations and sent out to other broadcast mediums.

One trip by the broadcast up to and back down to a geosynchronous satellite at 22,500 miles up and back down has a 250 millisecond delay to it, there is no way around this due to the speed of light as all RF and fiber optic signals travel at this speed.

Several trips up and down and sent elsewhere add up in the delay, this can also cause lip-sync problems with some programs.

My IPTV signal is approximately 10 sec. behind my satellite signal and 12 sec. behind my OTA signal.

It must be going through multiple hops and decoding/recodings.

Mine is about 4 to 5 seconds at most.

I still plan on connecting my IPTV via network cable instead of wi-fi, once I get rid of my IKS service. Hopefully that will help.

I get mine through a firestick, I had to upgrade it to one that took WIFI 6, have had great results with that setup, still have lip sync problems but no drop outs, now looking to replace the router with one that sends out via WIFI 6, don't know whats going to be the difference as I'm connected at 110 mbps all the time.

Whats your WIFI connect speed at your IPTV box right now?

At that speed you shouldn't have any problems., so connecting via a network LAN connection shouldn't help that much.

Mine was originally connecting at 6 Mbps on the old firestick until I went with the new firestick that uses WIFI 6, then it went up to 110 Mbps.
