    Just a little howdi-doudi ,,,

    The Milky Way galaxy is about 100,000 light-years across, or 30 kiloparsecs (kpc). The Sun is located about 8 kpc from the center of the galaxy, on the Orion Arm

    At the speed of light it would take 100,000 years to cross , (not 2000) so better pack a lunch
