    Default Junxbox Channel Status

    Hi folks,

I've been playing around with a new Junxbox, as channels continue to disappear from Dreamlink.
Junxbox is up and running, made the manual transponder 21500 adjustments on 91w, and did scans.

I've noticed most channels are mirrored on both 82w and 91w in the guide when both sats are scanned.
Also noticed that when a 82w channel goes offline, even though the same channel is appearing on 91w it will not come in. For example, noticed Food Network 1706 and Global News 1052 were both gone today after working up to yesterday. And noticed that hardly any of the old SD-only channels have re-appeared anywhere, with the exception of NTV Newfoundland showing up in HD.

Obviously bev is doing a lot of transponder and satellite shuffling.
My question is, will the Junxbox be just as useless as the Dreamlink as channels go dark on 82w? Currently, the new mirrored channels on 91w don't appear to work after they go dark on 82w. So currently I don't see any channel viewing benefit in using a Junxbox over the Dreamlink.

Lyngsat appears to be out of date with all these changes, even though their "last updated" is within a day.

I know IPTV is the way of the future, and I have IPTV and have gigabit fiber internet, but I still enjoy the (up to now) rock solid stability of IKS.

    Thoughts?

Your Guess is as Good as Mine, when it comes to What Bev is doing, all I know is 82W
Is on it's way out, and more & more channels moving over to 91W, and as far as Lyngsat is concerned
with Bev moving stuff on a ongoing Bases, they can't keep up with the changes, and no point trying to post the updates

    Fair enough, lol.
IKS information is scarce these days. So it's difficult to distinguish a setup error from something that all IKS testers are experiencing.

A simpler question to throw out there-- has anyone's neighbor mentioned watching any 91W IKS channels on any IKS receiver that has gone offline/black on 82W? Like for example, Food Network 1706 on 91W or Global News 1052?

    Thanks for that.
I might have an issue with my DPP Quad, I'm starting to look closely and I seem to be getting a false signal quality reading on 91 diseqc ports. I wonder if these boxes work properly with DPP Quad. It would explain why the channels are duplicating on 91 and 82 so closely during scans.

DPP Quad worked fine on Dreamlink.

I have an old SV8000HD in the closet.... too bad it's so old that it didn't have the HD module in it. At least I think that's what was missing from it. Haven't turned that thing on in many years, lol.

When I do Sat. Scans I wind up with DBL & Triple channels as well, I believe that has to do with
all the TP changes etc. OEM Boxes/receivers can handle it because it's built-in to the software/firmware
FTA receivers can't because they don't have the updated software/firmware to handle it etc.

That DPP Quad is a power hog, it maybe to much for that Junxbox to power up properly ?

    Update:

Ok so my bad on the diseqc ports.....
I scrubbed my channels and changed my diseqc port for 91W. My DP Quad ports 1+3 are coming up with 91w, and ports 2+4 with 82w. This time I think I actually got a scan for proper 91w channels. It skipped most transponders, but did grab a handful and have something like 100 channels on my port 1. Most of the old SD channels, and a handful of HD channels.

Re-scanning with port 3 on 91w yielded another 200 or so channels, still some skips during scan, but a different batch of channels.

And then scanning 82w yielded back the 400+ HD channels, although it did not help to bring in channels that had already dropped.

Progress, yes.... still issues though. I may still have some configurations wrong. No more duplicate channels in the Guide. Not seeing NTV HD on 1008 anymore, so obviously missed some channels this time scanning. The Food Network 1706 and Global National 1052 still no-go.

It's late, will play around another day to see what else comes in.

What diseqc switch are you using, cause those cheap ones like Pansat & others are Garbage
you need a Good quality one like chieta or EMP-CENTAURI 4X1 DiSEqC MULTI-SWITCH

so there isn't any Cross Talk between the ports etc.
Also that DP Quad has a built-in switch of it's own.

Yup, I'm using the DP Quad with internal switch.... weird thing is if I just set it to LNB Type OCS-DP, the box seems to identify most of the time as 82w. I've been playing around with the settings and getting mixed results with different diseqc settings and even switch settings. Even though I have neither anymore. It worked fine on the Dreamlink.

Majority of channels for both SD and HD appear to be loaded and working, however as you mentioned it's so hard to tell what bev is swapping around right now.

It still could be a power issue, causing switching issues, Like I said those DP Quad's are Power hogs
and the Junxbox may not have enough power for that setup, you may need a power insertor in between
to supply proper power to that LNB setup.

    One of these: hxxps://www.ebay.ca/itm/382464589380?_skw=power+inserter&itmmeta=01JDNW13F F3V8VJHANWWHP700P&hash=item590caa7e44:g:mP8AAOxyUr ZS6~Wz&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhV JKlRJ0pW1v4741v6urwmmH266DtCOS%2FdNjPsGhQFqk7DTbns 4sHKPvkAm6%2Bc5UKYZM8NyPNVNCBKjMIRKxKwhXsxq7NmM6BP Lgv%2BNs9Y0Y9mfjeVZXfgwGKl29idhdJThDHSFPEpbmalGDyz zvubcn48%2FtshK1e0errrckE6T9A0kykZFbhdSXnOMem8YZxd wJWfRu0TfiJmBGvl%2BShTqoItQZA0VPzwuEOFTzWju6DZdkHY Wub1PXSISoRq3iD%2B1BzBQCQXV3C09zpYV%2BFRE5TtqgKE%2 B0%2BEHiERdwUhFAJ2%2Fw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4a4hLztZ A

So I could use that power inserter inline from jynxbox to lnb?
And then box wouldn't need to provide lnb power?

Right now I just have the 1 single RG6 coming into the box. With the DP Pro, both sats are obviously running over the 1 coax into the box.
