Hi there I have a person that has a smart tv mounted above fireplace there is no way to hook up HDMI to get into back of the tv. He does want to try to run IPTV. Is there a program that works well with a Smart Tv for him to use it that is free ?

a tv for iptv is not that good

You might want to check on the side of the tv There are sometimes HDMI ports there

I also have a tv with no area to put an external box. A IPTV app takes care of it well.

My experience with IPTV apps on a smart tv have been really good. Stable, good guide, search functions well, video is clear, move & hide channels.

If it’s a lg tv or a Samsung there is Smarters. It’s good at many things. Not all servers will work with it but it’s completely free.
If the tv is android based I’d recommend tivimate or sparkle. These are really good apps with great product support.

Overall there are many choices. One that I’ve paid for full lifetime are
Allplayer IPTV. I highly recommend it for all of its features. It could be difficult to find a seller though.

A quick search in the smart tvs library of apps using a simply search of IPTV should turn up many other choices.

Try some out and find one that suits his needs.
