    We had a corner variety store similar to this at the corner where I grew up
    It was run by an old Jewish lady "Rifka" and her husband "Zorro"
    50 cents would go a long way ...

    We had a local variety store in our village of 2500 people. It was called Village Variety. For 10 cents you would get a bag of candy!!!
