My U5 has version 5.0.891.

When I go to the settings it says there is a firmware update available. When I try to update nothing happens.

When I select "updates" the screen just blinks and goes back.

I would just do a reset then

If I do a reset then I guess all my stuff will get wiped out. I don't know what the firmware upgrade will do for me so maybe I'll hold off doing it until anothr time.

First thing to do is use the integrated backup function of BuzzTV 5 (menu-settings->configuration->backup&restore) and create a backup to at least save your server settings, and favorites. Make sure you put the backup onto a USB stick to keep it safe from any resets. You can use this to restore at least the BuzzTV settings and favorites if you do a reset.

Now for 3rd party apps, that is a completely different story.

I tried to do the backup but it didn't work either.

I went ahead and did the reset and now the versions are up to date. So now I have to reload my favs, oh well. All is good.

Oh well. Guess once you finish most of your setups on the buzztv app, time to take a backup and keep it safe, just in case Hope you never need it, but will save you time if you ever do.
