whirlpool problem

my wife just bought a glass top stove. what would make the oven take so long to get hot, seems to be on {pre} <preheat> for a very log time before it gets to the temp,that u put in and the top of the stove is the same way takes long to heat up ,is that the way glasstop stoves work whirlpool could not answer that one nice stove but a think something is wrong here.

Thats a good question for loginfreak... I bought Kitchen aid instead of whirlpool because of him I been very happy with it...

Its possible it may not be getting the proper voltage to it..On 220 voltage
you would still work if one wire is not getting voltage just wont heat up right.
Just a suggestion..

thanks i will ckeck the volts the guys that deliverd it trip the breaker when thay pluged it in good place to start thanks .

Looks like your on the right track.

The first thing to check here would be the power.

One thing I'm wondering is if your stove top elements are getting red at all?

And if this problem has been there from the start or just came up out of no where.

If you are checking the power at the plug.
Be Careful. If you have a multimeter, you will have to put it on AC volts.
Then partially unplug the range where the prongs are still in the plug.
But out enough to touch the plug pins with the meter.

Touch the two flat pins that are opposite from each other.

If there is not around 240 volts then it is a power problem.
Most of the time when nothing is working properly in a range it will be a power problem.

if you jut bought it, it might be under warranty, i think they come and check it for you for free.. i guess thats better than doing it yourself considering risks
