    Default 2012 NASCAR Pool

Well folks its a new year, and the NASCAR season it just around the corner, with only about a month left until the Daytona 500.

I was thinking that the competition in the pool here last year was very good and prety close right up to the end. With that in mind I was thinking of keep the format prety much the same (points, and driver picks). One thing I am considering is dumping the non-points event races (Bud Shoot-Out, and All-Star races). It seems that the interest level for those races is about half what it should be, and is more effort that what it is worth. Also I feel the All-Star weekend gives us a nice break from the pool.

I am not set in stone on anything, so I would like to hear some suggestions from the audience out there to see what feed back we can get to maybe spruce things up this year. I think its always great to mix things up to make it more interesting, so please post your comments here and give up some ideas you might have.

So speak your mind, and tell us what you would like to see different....we will discuss it, and see if it can be implemented.

Keep up to date on the pool by subscribing to the 2012 season subforum and you will be notified of anything new.

    Take care,
    DD

29 days, 5 hours and 12 minutes to the Green Flag.
Nice to be back and looking forward to another great pool.
Tend to agree with you on the non points Races DD.
How about breaking the 36 races into four or two segments and having four or two winners and an overall winner? Just a thought.

If you want, go back out to the subforum of 2012 NASCAR Pool, look for the forum tools drop down at the top of the forum on the right side, and select subscribe. That will open up a new window that will give you different options of how you want to be notified of any changes (additons) to the forum.

As arflaw stated, I (or someone) will post a new race thread each week, usually after the preceeding race is over, and results have been posted. If you subscribe to the forum as stated above, you will get a nofication via Email of the new thread, with a link to it.

    Too all interested NASCAR Poolers....

I will be posting a thread in a couple weeks with the rules, and prizes for this years pool. I just need to wait for the teams to get lined out for the start of the season so I can get the Tier arrangement setup. With so many teams making changes in the off season, and some waiting until the day before the Daytona 500 to decide to get off of the pot, it makes for pain.

Any more questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions please drop a line in this thread.

....bitches and complaints, take a number

PS... for those of you that have a title for winning a NASCAR Pool race last year....be prepared to loose it.

The only title that will stay all season will be the 2011 NASCAR Pool winner.
