DMX741 C and Ku band LNB

Anyone know what the switching is on the DMX741 C/Ku LNB?

Is it 22 KHz on for "C" band or 22 KHz off for "C" band??

And what would be the correct spacing from the front of the dish to the front of the LNB on a 39" offset dish??

For the first question :

Set to C Band LNB Type Standard Lnb Freq 5150 and Ku Band LNB Type Standard Lnb Freq 10750 To use it combined you turn ON 22khz tone for Ku band .With 22 khz tone off C Band is selected.

I've had limited success with a 741 lnbf. Worked great on c band on my mesh dish but ku wasn't up to par. However, ku side worked great with my solid. Nice to have both bands in one but I much prefer them to be seperated and I cannot see much success on c band with a 39" dish.

I'm just using the Ku side to find the satellite we need (105W), then once the dish is locked down I will try the "C" band side to see if it's working or not, if (and thats a big IF) I get anything on the "C" side then I will go to a better higher gain "C" band LNB.

One thing, are there any "C" band channels active on 121W? Lyngsat shows some on Galaxy 23, this would be a due south satellite for me, also 118.8 shows one active "C" band TP at 3934H, if they are active I could use them as a test.

The only reason we are using a small dish is due to size limitations, we are working with a "Historical" school building, 39" is about the biggest we can go, anything bigger would be seen from the road, they want the NASA education channel on 105.

The only channel on 105w that I'm aware of is Macy's which is encrypted. There are approximately 30 open and useful channels at 121w on c band. Unfortunately the last time I scanned 118.8w there weren't any active tp. The 3 Nasa channels come in strong here but that's with my 10' bud.

Yah it would be nice to use a good 10 footer, but working in so called "hysterical" districts if it doesnt look like it's from the 1850's it can't be seen from any public access, maybe I can design one that looks like a Teepee or an old outhouse.


OOOOHHHH brain storm........An old wooden water tower and tank with a windmill......I can put a 10 footer inside it...........Hummm maybe not, it would be outside their budget........Darn.

Nope that's it, they can't get a WIFI feed for the education channel there, (slow internet) so they want satellite, someone told them that it was on "C" band, then someone looked at the NASA web site, so now they want the education channel, the science teacher is a bit of a dingbat.

I have a 10', fully operational, equipped with a dmx741 for the taking (selling the property that it's sitting on - can't install at my new location). All yours Terry - just let me know when you'd like to pick it up (easy to take apart, all hardware is stainless steel )

with a bit of art work and some paint you can make that 10 footer look like a windmill,LOL.

Long drive - the dish is in se Ontario ( only 20 miles from Costa as the crow flies .lol) . You can plan your vacation around the trip - it would be one heck of a party . Lots of fix members within spitting distance
