People, people...can't you see the writing on the wall?
The game is almost up
You're better off to go the legal route...no headaches..no freezing
you want PPV, UFC......get it off the net..
Google XBMC...it'll give you everything you need for movies etc.
I've tried everything out there since mid 80's....Time to just watch Tv
Got legal subs to directv HD...group plan that is
And some other providers..
Most people don't even watch Tv...they just love the thrill of the chase
But, according to these posts...the chase is getting costly
Good thing there is still beer and Crown !!!
I just use Netflix now. Took down my dishes years and years ago
Netflix and Torrents and the occasional movie with the wife plus a DirecTV sub here.
Saw the writing on the wall when IKS came out and because of what I specialize in I knew not to play with it. Although there are ways to "beat the system" I'm not willing to gamble $3500 on it.![]()
The game cycles on and off. I read the game was over when there was no hack for VC2+ over 15 years ago and than so on. If something new comes along the game will restart.
As far as it being worth it. Most times its not really when you add anything you end up paying with all the disruptions plus the legal concern that most don't think of at the time but its a game and the game is getting it without paying the provider for it whether you paid for other things anyway. The game includes the excitement of beating the system so to speak. I am in no way advocating it but as long as there is some way to avoid provider payment there will be a game. If people put it out there people will play.

Dang you guys go to church every Sunday too??? lol BS is getting so deep and laughing so hard about ready to pop. Someone needs to close this one down.
I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything but when you know what I know about networking and staying anonymous on the 'net its a no win situation to be using IKS. Like I said sure there are ways to beat the system but its a gamble and not one that your run of the mill FTA'er knows about usually.
Laugh all you want...that shows your inexperience in this "game"
I recognize many from the "old" days..even some with new nicks
We started at the beginning....followed it through, to end up here
When I was younger..I enjoyed the "chase"...spent my whole life at the computer...learning., experimenting..
Now, there's nothing left to learn...you're at the mercy of iks providers..
The quality of the product has degraded to the point where I'm sure it would be stressful to watch
Now, no energy or enthusiasm....Just wanna watch TV
It may be BS to you...but we've lived it..
Gunsmoke, I agree..but the VC2+ was never hacked
and as for something new coming out...I think the numbers who would follow into new territory has dwindled to a small fraction
of what it used to be..
You can tell by the posts that the ones that are mostly into IKS are used to being spoonfed..no offense
Give them a "hack" where they would actually have to learn and modify something on their own... ain't gonna happen.
The "old school" end users have mostly moved on.
Guys being goodie to shoes about not getting a letter is what I'm talking about. It really doesn't serve a purpose other than you think you are better than everyone else. No disrespect to anyone. By the way I was flipping switches for 1's and 0's before Tandy came out with there first and probably while some of you were still in diapers. lol
I think it runs deeper than that though. I see a lot people on these forums that have no idea what a proxy is or how to use it or what kind to use or how to use a VPN or how to set up an anonymous email or that Paypal is not safe. So I think in all honestly a lot of these people are being mislead by the dealers, resellers and those trying to push IKS for a monetary gain. For me its basically about having the knowledge that I know I am not bullet proof. I don't trust my online anonymity to anyone but myself. A lot of these people will put trust in others that they hardly know or don't know at all in some cases.
I just took an ICND I class for Cisco training and I was amazed at some of the questions that popped up. Like this one guy who did loss prevention work for a retail company asking if he used his Blackberry to check email and surf at work on the LAN could they spy on him? Its like "Duh yeah of course they can". Now this is a guy who's studying to be a network administrator and he didn't know something as basic as this? And this is a second year class IMO he should have this knowledge as a prerequisite to entering that class.
So in closing I think a lot of people in the IKS game are basically in over their heads and have no real idea how to protect themselves online.
