Default 2002 nissan frontier xe 2.4 carburetorated kicking and bucking

I am a shade tree mechanic with good general automotive knowledge.I replaced transmission with a salvage transmission and was good to go for 2 years when I notice a bearing squalling. The truck set for a few months then fixed transmission. Now truck kicks and bucks at low speed but clears up at a higher speed. Is the a mass air sensor problem or plugs distributor cap or rotor button problem. Its hard fixing what you can't see broke.

What kind of shape was the torque converter in ? Increase in RPM helps lock up the internal clutch and pumps up the trans. fluid to working pressure. Where do you think the squalling is coming from?

Is the check engine light on?THE best place to start is with a code retrieval. Not too many things that cause what your feeling that won't leave a code of some sort, check engine light on or not.Even a torque converter issue can leave a code.

No torque converter it is a 5 speed manual transmission and there is no check engine warning lights on dash so can't check for codes. My brake peddle feels funny maybe a vacuum leak is my problem.

Maybe a bad throw-out bearing or possible pressure plate problem..............also brake booster vacuum problem

Yeah already watch a few video's.Most say mass air sensor. All video's are on throttle body setups nothing on carburetor aspiration.Brake paddle feels funny and the cause could be vacuum leak which can cause carb problems.

Just recently replaced my master cylinder on a Tacoma. Was leaking into my brake booster. Easy to check by unbolting it from the booster pulling it away a little bit. By the way you never posted an answer for the last math problem..........just say'in.

2002 Nissan 2.4 didn't come with a carb, at least o.e.Perhaps your mistaking a throttle body efi for a carb? They do look like a carb.

Your right it looks like a carburetor because of location most throttle bodies are mounted directly to plenum.

That is true. The MAF sensor sits on the side of it, as well as TPS & AT sensors. In any case bro, I would attempt a code retieval CE light or not.You may very well find misfire codes, P300 to P304 that don't always set a CE light, but will store a code.Great start I say.

Try this:cut 'n paste from a Nissan forum.I don't have a way to verify it.

    hxxps://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/common/nissan_engine_codes_read_2.php
This is assuming you don't have a scan tool.

I can get codes read but if no error code shows the reader shows nothing. When I turn key to on all warning lights show after engine starts no lights.

Try the method I pointed out if you can.It works on a different protocol & code table.
