help with 9000hd

Hi Guys, I'm trying to get my 9000hd to scan sat 82. When I'm in antenna setup I have sat 82 showing as locked (top left). I get quality of 90-92 on tp 12428 and tp 12443, 0% on all other tp's. I replaced 8psk with new one and same thing. 91 works perfect on 82 when I scan I get 15 "weird" channels and no hd. Very frustrated as I've been playing with this for 2 weeks now.

do this to all sats if you want.
your box will update tp's and replace with current ones....cool eh?
no need to delete channel's.
any other questions just ask....starfarm is pretty sharp on these boxes.

delete all but one working correct tp on 82...ok
then click ok and it will scan and fix your problem.
82 is mostly 21500 currently..hd ya know.

antenna setting.
scan channels.
edit tp's.
yellow button delete tp's.
something like that.
starfarm could give you play by play.

Ok, I deleted all tp except 12443 (q 92%) did auto scan and it scanned 12443tp and NO channels. I must have something set wrong?

yappapi, your a genius. auto tp was on, turned it off and I NOW HAVE 299 channels on 82. I'm gonna watch hockey tonight in HD.

actually auto tp should be on(i think).
most your tp's should now show 21500 instead of 20000.
you have a cool box..may get one in the future if i find a good deal.

Well I may have spoken too soon. Lost it all, tried to do it again and back to my 15 channels. NO HD, this is frustrating as ....
Doing factory default and start over. I'll let you know. Had it for a few moments though.

there should be an area for tuner on tuner off.
toggle that back and forth a few times.
i read that may help.
it needs to be on after toggling.

Well it's been working great for 5 hrs now. Big thank you to yappapi, guess I won't throw it in the dumpster just yet. My wife couldn't believe how much patience I had with this.... If she only knew how close I was to tanking it.

Where you at yappapi, I'll ship it free. It started acting up again, no video but I have a great hd set to listen to audio. I'm at my wits end. Now it shows good Q on most tp's but I get no audio or video on channels. But I get intermittent sound. Tried factory default and reload and now I get same thing. I think ...... well, I don't know what to think anymore.

try turning the external tuner switch on and off a few times, sometimes it sticks, glad you now know how to scan by deleting all but one working tp on 82, that works for all the other sats as well, the 9000hd is a very good stb and you should be happy with it once you get it figured out

Well, I stayed up until 8:00am and watched my ultra and my beer kept me company, trying to get over the frustration. I will start fresh today and see what happens. Will let you know.

Well I say this with apprehension, I have hd channels up for 3 1/2 hours. I have been changing channels, when I walk by, renamed a couple, and deleted a few. Hoping the settings hold. So far so good... we'll see.
BTW I hope it does, beautiful picture on my 65" plasma.

Well I'm still trying to figure this thing out. It doesn't want to save once I get it working properly. Worked well yesterday, turned it off, tried this morning and I had audio but no video. Went through the process again, default, reload file, set sat, delete all tp except good one,toggle tuner and lnb, auto scan and it's been working ever since. Maybe I'll leave the receiver on tonight and see tomorrow.just doesn't seem to save.

it may end up being an organ donor...happens sometime when flash chip get corrupt or mb goes bad.
i have bought 2 STB's and made one in the past...cheap and learn a little bit.

It sounds like it's not the box itself but the coding. When you're getting intermittent audio only that's because 82's audio is not encrypted on hd channels but does cut in and out. If you keep losing channels you may have a corrupt satellite or channel file that will keep doing this until it's completely clean. You may have to do a factory reset and start from scratch to get rid of the corruption, IF that's the cause of the problem. It may also be that your 8psk board is wonky as it sounds like something is dropping out randomly.

Well I can say with confidence I (and all of you figured this thing out). just wanted to post follow up, turns out blackwater was correct with my latest problem. Been working flawless for the past month. Now that I have figured this puppy out after my ultrta, if I can assist anyone with ultra or 9000 issues please ask. I have pretty much experienced every nuance with these units and many helpful members here as well to assist.

I know this is an old thread, however, need some help with a friend's 9000 HD. He bought it off e:bay and seller said it was working fine. We can't get Sat 129 channels in. At 1st, thought it was the 8psk so installed a new one. No luck. It scanned 17 channels for a while, then got it to scan 44 but none watchable (NFPS) server doesn't offer these channels scanned.
It won't scan a number of tp's even though we've updated list. Won't scan in 9431 on 110 either to check module.
Tried to delete all tp's except 1st and rescan but it will only scan that 1st tp and then stop without populating the others. Had to manually add all 31 others then resan. Same problem.
Have turned module on/off numerous times and same results.
If turn module "on" and exit, 101 won't come in, nor other channels. If turn module "off" and exit, all SD work. No trouble with 110 or 119 other than not getting HD on these either. All SD work fine.
Good Q/A on 110, 119 and 129 and locked on to scan. Have factory default and rescan, no change.
Have tried scanning at 2 different residences where HD works on an other receiver (Max HD). No luck with his 9000 though scanning in HD. One uses 1000.2 and other uses 3 dishes with standard LNB and diseq.
File on 9000 is 110802H.
Had cap replaced (blown) on power supply but didn't help. No other caps on either board appear bad.
Sorry for long post, but have spent mucho time and days and reading on this unit and no resolve.
Very familiar with Viewsat and he's used platinum, extereme and ultra light over the years.

Any help to rectify would be appreciated.
