View Full Version : New switch, still scanning duplicate channels on 119 and 110

I have searched for answers on this.

I am using a dish 500 and 300 (legacy LNB) with a new Chieta wsd-2041 switch but it's doing the same thing as my cheap switch. This Chieta switch does not have the part numbers stamped so I emailed Phat Satellite and he says the switches are legit without P/N. I dont know...

If I scan 119 it will show 119 at the top before scanning but if I scroll down to a different transponder I see 110 at the top. This is scanning manually and 119 individually without the 110 lnb even hooked up to the switch. So is it a switch issue or is it an LNB issue with my Dish 500?

I have done factory resets and my ports are all set correctly (119 port 1, 110 port 2 and 129 port 3) with disceq set to the proper port, everything else off.

No matter what I do I get duplicate channels on many of the channels. I was using a Dish 1000.2 but the power hog was put away for this set-up. I shortened the length of my rg6 cables by half (about 60ft total) and this has improved my signal greatly. No more problems with the jynxbox.

Wonder if someone can post their userdb file with all the correct channels as they should be then maybe I can use that to solve the issue. Either that or get yet another switch or swap out the Dish 500 LNB. Duplicate channels and many channels are blank as a result (wrong sat when tuning in the channel obviously) Any advise would be appreciated.

What I did is do a manual scan for 119 and 110 transponder by transponder with network off. For both sats as many know the same transponders are used so while I was on 119 trying to scan a particular transponder and I would see 110 at the top, I would have to rescroll up/down until 119 showed up then I would scan that transponder. Rinse and repeat for all transponders (I skipped all the locals except for Detroit and used Lyngsat for my channel list) but now I have all the channels and no duplicates (as for as I can see). Saved my userdb to a usb drive for safe keeping so I should be good for awhile unless D*sh changes things..

If anyone else is having an issue with duplicate channels let me know and I would be happy to provide my userdb for those that could use it. Just let me know. Took about an hour and a half all together.

Exactly which dish 500 lnb (legacy) are you using? Dual, quad, individual? If using legacy, the individuals have least problems.

Dual lnb. I had no idea the dual had issues.

scan without a switch if you can each one alone then add swich after putting the correct port numbers with settings

Its not your lnb, you have too many TPs in your TP list, go to lyngsat and copy the TP list for each sat you want, then add them
to your box, remove all the TPs that is not on the list then rescan the sat with network off and that will fix it.
