What do you mean ? I have never required any information to buy and use vanilla Mastercards. Is this an American thing ? I buy vanilla cards all the time as gifts for birthdays ect.. and for all my online shopping. Yes, the USA requires a ssn number (and other traceable information) to use pre-paid credit cards, I believe it came about after 9/11 and has something to do with stopping people from being able to fund terrorist groups anonymously.

wow, I had no idea. Sounds like there may be a big demand for Canadian vanilla cards.. I smell a business opportunity! lol

Thanks for the update.. for the record all Canadian prepaid visa / mastercards you can purchase and use almost directly after purchase, its activated automatically at the point of sale. Most places online they can be used directly with out registering it, but if you want to attach it to an account like paypal then you have to register it to a zip or postal code. That is the only information you are able to input for the card.

Makes me wonder how long before the Canadian cards will require more identifiable information to use them if at all. Oh well just another reason Canada is better

The Obama Adm. stopped ALL prepaid cards that I know of that do not require SS , name, address, e-mail, phone number and etc. ... Money pak, Visa, MC, and all others in the USA .... (if you know of ANY and where to purchase, please share) ???

I have no way to test the American cards, I know NONE of the Canadian 'gift' cards require any information at all. The ones that DO require information are the prepaid Mastercards and Visa's which are re-loadable thus you must register the card with personal info.

It looks like NoName may be on to something as the OneVanilla cards claim they require no personal information to purchase and use because they are not re-loadable and can only be used electronically (can't take cash from machines) ect.. If anyone gets a chance to try one of these let us know..

my mailman used onevanilla cards, he didn't have to register it but he did register the zip code.....no ssn number or name or anything required. He then linked the onevanilla to his fake paypal and then paid that way.

Yes, so that's the same as the Canadian vanilla cards from the sounds of it. You buy them anywhere and can use them anywhere cards are accepted in person, but to use it online it needs to be registered to an address (just zip or postal code) for the credit card verification systems to work properly on web stores.

There is no contact to activate it, when you buy the card its activated automatically at the point of sale. there is a post here http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php...ly-Anonymously that should give you a better idea what we are talking about here.

no and no. he said the card gets activated when you purchase it. no registration needed for activation
