Keep in mind that many companies are running with short staff this past week due to the holiday long weekend. Since it falls on the weekend, Some companies have Friday off, others the Monday (some both since they add their floating holidays to give employees more time off). And since school is out for most kids since last week, many parents take the week off for vacation. Or at least a couple of extra days to make "super" long weekends.
Here in Quebec it is even worse, since we also had last weekend off also, due to our "Fęte nationale - aka St Jean Baptiste holiday". 2 long weekends back to back, many take 4 days vacation to bridge the 2 long weekends, and end up getting 10 days off (3 days for first long weekend, 4 days vacation, and 3 days second long weekend), and only costs them 4 days of vacation.
I know in my office we are barely at 50% staff during this past week. And this coming week, I'm sure won't be much better, since since we are closed Monday, and then Tuesday we have our US colleagues that are off for the 4th of July (which can sometimes be a week off for them also). Not much will get done, it is just skeleton staff on emergencies mostly.
I know it can be frustrating, but be patient. It is just bad timing. Everyone it taking a well deserved vacation/time off.
