Miracast for video connect !

Has anyone utilized Miracast to send the audio/video out of a IPTV mediabox to a TV so as to eliminate the HDMI cable?

If do what was needed? My media box already has Miracast installed, do I need to have a similar program on the (Smart) TV?

i can tell you i miracast from my pc i use the sfvip player and sometimes vlc to my samsung
in windows you just go to "bluetooth and devices" and add a device like my samsung you will see
it connecting on the samsung.i would think there would be a setting on your media box to add a device
like your smart tv.
