    Default Connection to my provider

I was lucky enough (I hope) to get an NFUSION H D to replace my T5. I am able to connect and scan my satellites and have read as much as I can on how to connect to my service provider. Am I correct in thinking that I always have to have a computer connected all the time to get this thing to work? Find this hard to believe. What do I need to do to make this work

Yes did read it but still didn't tell me how to connect to my provider. I just can't believe it has to be connect to a computer all the time.

if you have an older linksys router you could mod it to work instead of a pc
but without a way to grab control words the box is useless

That would require some work and thought, though... Not to mention who doesn't have a PC on most of the time in a home when you are home?

But yes router method is the way to go...

it's not that hard to do
I even modded a router to work with an atmega in an OEM ird which involves changing wires inside
I posted a guide on that about a decade ago

Didn't you always have to have your computer connected to the T5?? Why would an Nfusion be any different.

To connect to your provider you load an xx-client program (GooWare) onto a laptop and then the xx-client acts as the "middle man" between your Nfusion and your provider. Your provider will give you all the info to type into the xx-client's server file, then adjust all the settings in the xx-client file, then launch the xx-client and let it run. The good thing about this setup is that you can see the xx-client talking to the provider on the laptop screen so you can see what's going on all the time if there is a problem. Your laptop will need to have wifi to connect to the internet because your Nfusion connects to the laptop via the laptops ethernet port.
