Guess the new VOD server is down right now, since no VOD (Movies) seem to work. I tried a half a dozen, mixed new and old. Oh well, such is life.
TV Series seem to work. They have the usual 30 to 45 second delay starting, but once they start, they seem to play fine (I tried 3 episodes of different series).
LiveTV, Yes there are quite a few channels that seem to be down. But that could also be at source, so not necessarily much wicked can do for those unless they have other sources. Still plenty to watch, so no big deal.

Tried with no VPN and with 3 different VPN server locations.

Holidays don't help much, since staff is probably out enjoying the well deserved break.

I noticed that without a VPN, TSN1 will work after about 8 seconds or so but the other TSN channels won't load at all.
With a VPN, all TSN channels work beautifully.

on multiple servers one may not have been blocked by isp so it jumped you to the one not blocked after some time

It is presently not streaming the correct channel. It seems to have jumped to one of the other ANT1 family of sub-channels (ANT1 F1 - which is all sports/Formula1). It is off air so only showing tomorrows schedule. If it can be reset to show the main Ant1 channel it would be appreciated.

Hi All, Mrs Claus (wife) was good to me for Christmas. I got a new Formuler Z11 Pro!!
so no more vpn problems Yehaaa
- I have all channels set up
- I NOW have a Vpn Proton
- I tried to play "Landman" and a few others tonight on the TV series and VOD it just spins and doesnt load, says Error
- I have Tried Vpn ON and Off, Reset my internet, but still doesnt load.

That’s why this is WickedTV issue necessitating a work around solution because our VOD and series VOD is severely handicapped with respect to the essential hardcoded subtitles and/or CC
....


This has NOTHING to do with wicked.

Wicked makes no promises. All movies (from pretty much all IPTV services) are typically scraped from various sources and they are encoded the way they are encoded. It's the same rips you will typically find on torrents and other sites.

Your workaround, for looking for a player which will do what you want (external subs), has nothing to do with wicked (you'd probably want it regardless of the service you use - since I doubt there is any consistency for this ). As you already assumed, wicked will surely not be updating it's TB (of not PB) of media to include what you want. Some VOD (typically the 4K versions) have pretty much every sub you can think of (so it is NOT the entirety of WickedTV VOD and Series). The 1080 and 720 version typically don't. You don't like it, then you need to find a service which has what you want (I'm sure there will be nothing that is consistent on any service), or you buy a sub with some official streaming services.

Your useless long posts will not change much.

And even if you had external subs, you have no way of knowing which RIP you have, in order to be able to select the correct matching subs. 2 or 3 seconds to early or too late will ne just as useless anyhow.

If you want to do this, you can just download the VOD you want to watch onto your U5, then find multiple SRT files, dump them into the download directory, and then use VLC to play them.

Or you can learn a new language before watching the movie :)

I had the same issue I was using tivimate and the new version has a timeout that will not allow you to play I had to use another player like Smarters or XCIPTV

I know there have been many channel rebrands/shutdowns, for some Canadian channels (like Food net, HGTV, a few Discovery channels, Animal channel, BET, Magnolia, etc.. They did shuffle a few things at the begining of the month.

"CA: Food network" has been rebranded as "Flavour Network", but the EPG is showing the guide for the US: Food network. Whenever possible to update the channel id to the "flavour network" so the EPG can match the programming ? And if preferred, the channel can be renamed as "CA: FLAVOUR NETWORK" to reflect the new channel name.

Also some other changes:

CA: MAGNOLIA network (no longer streaming - can probably be removed)
CA: MTV (no longer streaming - can probably be removed)
CA: COOKING CHANNEL (no longer streaming - can probably be removed)
CA: BET (pretty sure no longer streaming - can probably be removed) For now it seems to be streaming US: BET

CA: HGTV (no longer streaming - can probably be removed) Some providers have renamed this to "Home network" and some providers are streaming this one now. For now, it seems to be streaming UK: HGTV

Just for peoples info wondering where some channels have gone:

Why Corus and Bell did this, I have no clue. Some creative marketing idiots think that this is the way to do it, and they managed to convince idiot management to allow them to spend money in this kind of stuff. Probably launched to management as some way to become more efficient and hence profitable via some creative accounting methods :)

Do both boxes run the same firmware ? Pretty sure the specs of the 2 boxes is different. The original one uses a Cortex A35 CPU, the newer Pro version uses a Cortex A55.

It's just because I have one of the smaller $20 ones in a drawer, and was curious and would pull it out to try to reproduce it if it was.

Also, would probably be curious on what version of smarters is being used ?

Was it the Wicked branded versions of smarters and/or XC being used ?

must be 20/30 dark tv so not familiar with which one your using if it doesnt have sd or low birate i would switch to wicked iptv
the regional locals are good 24/7 and tv series are cached.youtube uses cdn`s to cache their content its a little higher end than
iptv servers but wickeds low birate and regionals 24/7 tv series are fine.if you go the box route i would start out with something simple
and cheap cheap stuff is sold at your local wal fart

Could not get it to work on BuzzTV 5 (5.0.946 on Classic), Tivimate, or wicked (smarters) apk.

At least not with CA: City TV Montreal and Toronto and US: CBS (WCBS) New York NY which I typically use to test.

Anyhow, not going to continue here for now. I'll check again tomorrow during the day. Time to get some zzz...

Confirmed ..none of the games playing on the nhl category. This is I think a first for no games showing this year during game time on the NHL category on consecutive nights. Amazon could be the reason for the Monday games. . Has been pretty solid all year.

I can't confirm ISPs this time, but your comment and theory is flawed..

ISPs will target specific servers, CDN, and other destinations.
So just because other services are up, does NOT mean that ISPs are not causing it.

Not all iptv services are located in the same data center, or using same servers. And they won't target all of them.

During the world cup you can ask how many people were affected. And I have family using different ISPs, and even in different countries. It was interesting to see that blocking affected only Canadian users, that were on very specific ISPs, and affiliated sub companies. Many others were not affected, and my family in the US was not either.

So it is more complicated than saying I have other services, and I can confirm it is not my ISP. This is why I stated "Most ISP pull out all the stops during this big day. In this game/hobby, everyone should have a backup if you can't live with downtime."

Don't know if they have any dedicated resources, but they are there for those who want to use them.

I'm wondering if they will be turning off some categories during the Superbowl like last year .
